Q: Can I take photos or videos during the penguin viewing? Q: What should I wear for the evening penguin viewing? Q: What is the difference between General Viewing and Premium Viewing?

A: Strictly NO photography or filming (including phones, cameras, and GoPros) during Evening Viewings, as lights and camera flashes will startle and disorient the wild penguins. Daytime visitors may take photos in the outside colony area without flash, but photography is prohibited in the indoor burrow viewing rooms. A: The viewing stands are outdoors right by the ocean. It gets very cold and windy at night year-round. Please dress warmly with extra layers, windproof jackets, hats, and gloves regardless of the season. A: Premium Viewing seats are located much closer to the beach and penguin pathways, allowing you to see penguins walking right past the grandstand and boardwalk. General Viewing seats are situated slightly further back on a raised grandstand overviewing the beach.
