Trip Schedule

Departure: Board the glass-roof coach from Queenstown (~6:45 AM - 7:00 AM) or Te Anau (~9:30 AM - 10:00 AM).

Scenic Drive: Travel along Lake Wakatipu and through Fiordland National Park with scenic stops at Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lakes, Monkey Creek, and Homer Tunnel.

Arrival & Check-in: Arrive at the Milford Sound Visitor Terminal and check in at the designated operator counter (RealNZ or Southern Discoveries).

Milford Sound Cruise: Board your vessel for a 1.5 to 2-hour cruise to explore sheer cliff faces, roaring waterfalls, and marine wildlife.

Return Journey: Disembark at the terminal and board the return coach back to Te Anau (~17:00 PM) or Queenstown (~19:30 PM).

Travel Duration: Full-day journey takes ~12 hours from Queenstown and ~7 hours from Te Anau. Please allow a full day in your schedule. Alcohol License: Personal alcohol cannot be brought on board. Local beer, wine, and beverages are available for purchase at the bar. No Mobile Signal: Cell coverage ends about 10-15 minutes past Te Anau inside the National Park. Wi-Fi is available for purchase at the Milford Sound Visitor Centre. Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible options are available at the main visitor terminal and on select vessels. Lunch Add-ons: Special lunch boxes (Obento, Buffet, Picnic Box) must be pre-ordered at least 48 hours prior to departure.
