Trip Schedule

Check in at RealNZ Visitor Centre on Lakefront Drive, Te Anau 20 minutes prior to departure.

Board the cruise vessel at the wharf and enjoy a scenic boat ride across Lake Te Anau.

Disembark at Cavern House to watch an informative display about the glowworm life cycle. Split into small guided groups (approx. 12 people) to walk through the active cave system.

Board a small boat to glide through the dark glowworm grotto in quiet awe.

Return to Cavern House for complimentary hot beverages, then board the cruise back to Te Anau wharf.

Accessibility Limits: Not suitable for wheelchair users or guests unable to bend down, as the cave entrance requires stooping and includes narrow paths with steps. Infant Policy: Infants (0-4 yrs) are free but carrying infants through the cave is not recommended due to uneven surfaces. Travelling adults can take turns waiting at Cavern House with the baby while the other visits. What to Wear: Cave temperatures remain around 8-12°C year-round. Please bring warm fleece jackets, waterproof jackets, non-slip footwear/boots, insect repellent, and personal medication. Cave Etiquette: Please remain quiet during the small boat grotto ride to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
